The Business Planning and Financial Management (BPFM) module explores the complex and inter-related environment in which an organisation operates and how to manage an organisation’s finances within the context of that environment. Students will learn how to evaluate the alternative courses of actions available, from short-term financing of working capital to longer-term investments. Investment appraisal is explored and there is a focus on discounted cashflows techniques. Recent developments such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence are introduced in this module.

With the examination option*, you’ll be eligible to sit the proctored 3-hour final exam (virtually - morning) and earn your certificate, CPD and credit towards the Canadian Public Finance Accreditation (CPFA).

*The final exam is sat globally on the same day on CIPFA’s ROGO examination platform and is made up of multiple-choice questions, objective questions and scenario-based questions. One (1) exam sitting and one (1) exam re-sit are included in the price. Additional exam sitting will be at the additional cost of $210.00. Exams can be sat on set dates in June, September, December and March. 50% is required to pass the exam.
